Step 5: Monitor Your Mining
Understanding the Statistics
Hashrate: Your mining speed
- Measured in H/s (hashes per second)
- Higher is better
- Typical ranges: 100 H/s to 10,000 H/s depending on CPU
Shares:
- Submitted: Number of shares you've sent to the pool
- Accepted: Valid shares credited to your account
- Rejected: Invalid shares (a few are normal, many means a problem)
Difficulty: The current mining difficulty
- Set by the pool based on your hashrate
- Adjusts automatically for optimal share submission
Expected Time/Share: Estimated time until next share
- Usually 10-30 seconds with proper difficulty
Checking Your Earnings
In the Miner Dashboard:
- Your stats update automatically every 30 seconds
- View confirmed balance and total paid
- See shares submitted in real-time
- Track progress toward minimum payout
On Pool Website:
- Visit your pool's stats page
- Enter your wallet address
- View detailed statistics and history
Step 6: Receiving Payments
Automatic Payouts
Pools automatically pay miners when they reach the minimum payout threshold:
- Typical Minimums: 1-10 RMC (varies by pool)
- Payment Schedule: Usually every 1-24 hours
- Transaction Time: Payments arrive in 2-10 minutes
- Confirmations: Consider funds secure after 6 confirmations
Tracking Payments
- Check your pool's dashboard for payment history
- Use the Block Explorer to verify transactions
- Check your wallet to see received funds

Optimization Tips
Maximizing Your Hashrate
- Use Chrome or Edge: Best WebAssembly performance
- Close Other Programs: Free up CPU resources
- Keep Browser Active: Don't let the tab go to background
- Optimal Threads: Usually = number of CPU cores
- Ensure Cooling: Good airflow prevents thermal throttling
- Update Browser: Latest versions have better performance
- Consider Upgrading: Paid plans have no 10% fee deduction
Balancing Mining and Usage
For Free Accounts (Throttle Fixed):
- Adjust threads to control power
- More threads = more heat and power
- Fewer threads = cooler, more usable
For Paid Accounts (Adjustable):
- Full Power Mining (When not using computer):
- Threads: All cores, Miner Boost: 100%
- Background Mining (While working):
- Threads: Half cores, Miner Boost: 50-75%
- Light Mining (Just contributing):
- Threads: 1-2 cores, Miner Boost: 25-50%
Troubleshooting
Can't Connect to Pool
Check These:
- Is the proxy URL correct?
- Is your internet connection working?
- Is the pool online? (Check their status page)
- Try a different browser
Solutions:
- Double-check the WebSocket URL (starts with
ws://orwss://) - Disable browser extensions that might block WebSocket
- Contact pool operator for assistance
Low Hashrate
Common Causes:
- Not enough threads configured
- CPU throttle set too low
- Browser tab in background
- Other programs using CPU
- Overheating/thermal throttling
Solutions:
- Increase thread count
- Set throttle to 100%
- Keep miner tab active and visible
- Close resource-intensive programs
- Improve computer cooling
Shares Being Rejected
A Few Rejections Are Normal, but many rejections indicate problems:
Check These:
- Wallet address is correct (no typos)
- You're on the right pool
- Your internet connection is stable
- Browser is up to date
Solutions:
- Copy/paste wallet address to avoid typos
- Check pool status page
- Restart browser and reconnect
- Try a different pool to isolate the issue
Computer Running Hot or Slow
This is Normal When Mining:
- Mining uses CPU fully, generating heat
- Computer will be slower for other tasks
Solutions:
- Reduce threads (try 2-4 cores instead of all)
- Lower CPU throttle (try 50-75%)
- Improve cooling (clean dust, add fans)
- Mine when not using the computer
- Consider a dedicated mining machine
Security Best Practices
Protecting Your Wallet
Never Share Your Recovery Phrase
- Your 12 words give complete control of your funds
- Anyone with these words can steal your RMC
- Write them down on paper, store securely
Verify Addresses Carefully
- Always double-check wallet addresses before sending
- One wrong character means lost funds
- Use copy/paste, then verify the first and last characters
Use Trusted Services
- Only use official Rhino Miner websites
- Verify URLs before entering any information
- Be wary of phishing attempts
Keep Software Updated
- Use the latest browser version
- Keep your operating system updated
- Update wallet software when new versions release
Pool Security
Choose Reputable Pools
- Check community feedback
- Verify pool has been operating for some time
- Ensure pool operator is responsive
Monitor Your Mining
- Check statistics regularly
- Verify payouts are happening
- Watch for unusual activity
Don't Trust Pool Wallets
- Always withdraw to your own wallet
- Don't leave large balances on pool accounts
- Pools can be hacked or disappear
